Public Relations Specialist
The Public Relations Specialist is responsible for creating and implementing
re-marketing, retention and loyalty programs to retain existing customers.
They must have previous experience managing online and off-line customer
re-marketing campaigns and be a self-motivated individual who is able
to work in a fast-paced marketing department. This position will report
directly to the marketing manager and will work to develop and oversee
all day-to-day PR activities.
Responsibilities include defining the ongoing marketing strategy and
tactics for PR activities. The PR specialist will work closely with the
PR agency to make sure all programs meet the strategic goals for the marketing
department and will place a strong focus on gaining media coverage that
positions 4smallbusiness.com as a leader in the small business market.
Principal responsibilities include:
- Ensure editorial coverage in key business and vertical publications
for the following: new offering announcements, corporate profiles, industry
announcements (partnerships, co-marketing agreements, strategic alliances,
etc.) and proactive placements of trend stories
- Create and place bylined articles and op-ed pieces in business and
vertical publications, develop and nurture relationships with key media
contacts
- Participate in development of PR plan and ensure that it follows strategic
marketing goals and supports all brand initiatives
- Serve as the liaison to our PR agency, review and edit all work done
by the agency, oversee the timeline and track the budget
- Develop necessary PR tools, including video and radio news releases,
satellite media tours for TV and radio, collateral for media and customers
- Develop and deliver a consistent and effective partnership announcement
strategy and nurture relationships with partners and strategic alliances
- Oversee ongoing media inquiries, set up interviews with appropriate
internal staff and prepare executives
- Develop, write and edit press kit materials and all other collateral
keeping it updated
- Search for daily coverage, keep track of placements and analyze to
determine spin of content, make mock-ups of all articles to include
in press kit
- Support marketing manager with all sponsorship and partnership events
by working on day-to-day details involved in each event
The successful candidate will have three to five years of Internet or
business-to-business public relations experience. They must be able to
work in a fast-paced environment and execute multiple tasks on a daily
basis. Excellent writing skills and editing skills is required. Former
experience at a public relations agency or as a public relations specialist
for a company is a plus. A BA in journalism, communications or other related

Senior Producer,
Interactive Business Centers
Qualified candidates will have solid experience in building online communities
and a passion for developing two-way communication on the Web.
This position is responsible for developing and executing strategy for
all IBC aspects of our small business site. Responsibilities include creating
and overseeing all IBC content and functionality, evaluating vendors,
monitoring competitive site activity and working with our technology group
to build and implement the back end. The senior producer will also be
responsible for building and managing a team of internal and external
IBC producers.
This position will work closely with executive producers and product
and marketing managers to develop a compelling, consistent strategy for
each area of each IBC. Candidates must have the ability to generate new
ideas, develop strategies and implement new features based on specific
timelines. The ability to build community past basic chat and message
boards is a must!
Qualifications: This position reports to the director of production and
requires seven to eight years of Web experience: a minimum of two years
of management experience and at least two to three years of experience
in online community building.

Manager
The affiliate/reseller programs manager will be responsible for developing
and building programs to establish new sales opportunities and managing
ongoing affiliate/reseller relationships.
Principal responsibilities include:
- Directing the business development program for the company and developing
the overall calling program and contact program priorities
- Performing competitive analysis, developing strategic relationships
and developing new business areas that complement existing objectives

Content Manager
Reports to Director, Operations
The Content Manager will manage the overall project development process
and project development teams, from kick-off to post mortem. Individual
will work with VP Creative and Director of Content Development/Site Directors
to conceptualize and execute the content strategy and determine the creative
vision for individual projects. Individual will be responsible for managing
several projects at the same time. The Content Manager will be the prime
point of contact for the project.
Responsibilities: Conceive concepts for content areas, working closely
with team of writers and artists. Work closely with IBC Directors to maintain
brand integrity. Build, motivate and manage a cross-functional project
team to implement the Content Plan. Responsible for scheduling, budgeting
and deliverables. Provide status report of projects. Effectively communicate
project information to team and other internal departments. Proactively
coordinate across departments (creative, art, editorial, technology, and
business) to insure successful delivery of the IBC updates. Ensure IBC
updates are completed and delivered in timely and cost-effective manner
and pass quality standards. Strategize with project team to anticipate
problems, analyze solutions, identify creative alternatives and suggest
recommendations. Organizing and interviewing expert advisors for the editorial
development of numerous buyer guides. Providing ongoing maintenance and
adjustment of existing web-content.

Communications Manager
Responsible for all technical and producer related responsibilities for
message boards, chat rooms, tele-conferencing, video-conferencing, and
new media. Co-ordinate Hosts for the different areas of the communications
centers at 4smallbusiness.com. Hosts will offer help and support to users,
work with the 4smallbusiness.com IBC Team to keep the message boards running
smoothly, and manage their forum(s) in a manner consistent with 4smallbusiness.com's
needs and specifications. Establish and grow traffic to the message boards,
etc by facilitating a positive experience for the message board, etc users.
Must be willing to learn and teach the use of the discussion software.
